Unfavourable... maybe not.

11/27 thoughts...

I got a bad news a couple of days ago, perhaps already a week. When I thought of it, maybe it was for my good. With the days becoming shorter until the end of the year, I have become more convinced how much I value being free. I am so INT, perhaps even ST for that matter, that being under someone's rule would stress me out. I don't say I cannot be tamed, for even lions submit. But I don't submit to anyone I don't morally respect. It's pretty much an INTJ thing.

Looking back, I think I'm glad I didn't make it to the long grey line. During those times, I was still very stubborn. Authorities didn't matter to me unless someone holding that post proved himself credible and "worthy" of respect. I think I'd be charged of insubordination more often than necessary.

For now, I'm quite forgiving to people. I don't judge others easily but if I were in their shoes, I'd judge myself severely. I can't do that. I must have a reason to put myself in a junction of compromise. Not saying I have never compromised, but it's different knowing that you're going to position yourself there. As an INTP would always say, "It depends."

An unhealthy relationship does no good. It may look ok outside but it eats up inside. Who wants to be in that position? You can only take much. After that is a disaster. So I guess what I am trying to say is that it's good to have no strings attached.

The Bouquet 💐

This serves as a "tribute" to this bouquet.

Checking my tweets and finding this, I realized that I've been too INTP - a very curious cat - that I haven't fully appreciated how beautiful this 💐 was. I got diverted to whose bouquet this was because I came to work, which starts at 4AM, with this beauty sitting on my desk. It's actually anyone's who is on shift.

I tried to ask but no one knew. Of course people joked and teased that it was mine. I may not have the badge they do but we're still from the same unit so these officers pretty much rubbed their TCEU thing on me.

These were the reasons their claim was not established:
1. I don't know anyone who would give me such bouquet.
2. There was no tag or card indicating it's for me.
3. On our group chat, our terminal chief supervisor made a claim and name-dropped, but he could be:
3.1. Just teasing me; or
3.2. He was kidding an IO
4. Of course it was our terminal chief supervisor and I could simply take his word. But I thought he could be simply testing me, in addition to reason 3.1., because I've made an application for a badge.
5. I replied to our TCS in private and his reply implies that it was not to be taken seriously. 😶
6. The remaining reason to dispute the claim is simply the lack of supporting 'documents.' 😏

That's it, pancit!

Another yuan issue

Seems like I'll be dealing with trouble on a seasonal basis, like bi-annually. A colleague just confirmed it earlier. I am already hating it. This makes me want to do and push what I just "discovered" this morning while having my quiet time.

What to do? This can't go on and on. Even the monthly issue is already a problem. Why?

The "INxJ" in me wants to do something to settle these. For the record, I am an INTP. There are just INTJ and INFJ  traits that I could relate with. Well, back to my question, the only time I could really do something about these concerns is IF I get to be seated in particular positions. Not happening at the moment, not this year or next. I'm not even sure if such would even happen. Only heavens know.

An Application

I submitted an application last May 22. I kind of made the wrong "choice" but I could argue about it in the court of law and I wouldn't even need a lawyer. Technically, I did nothing wrong.

After making the submission, an application number was given but as I just looked for it in my phone, I realized that I've lost the screenshot. It probably happened while I was deleting photos in my phone. Now what to do?

I've been thinking of such application lately as well as the offer I got a month or two ago. I haven't heard about it - the offer - again but I would think about it every now and then. Because that's what INTPs do in the face of decision-making. Doing so led me to a lot of other things. Again, because I'm an INTP.

Sometimes I think it's getting tiring to have the habit of automatically considering possible options. I kind of envy those people, especially decisive ones, who would decide on one thing and follow it through until the end. Regardless and no matter what [the risk].

I wish it were that simple. I sometimes wish I could go full INTJ. But whenever I think about it, my reservations mostly involve real and present issues. And I end up with this conclusion: I can't just go after something unless I don't mind two stomachs suffering. Not to mention two heads having no shelter.

Even if the stakes were stratosphere high, I wouldn't have mind if it only involved me. Obviously, that is and has not been my case.

Will I be able to sing Crush's "Beautiful Life"? 🎧🎶

Summer 2017

This year's summer has brought a lot of changes, which I used to and normally showed no interest in. C'est la vie. Things change. I don't mind change. It's just that I wasn't comfortable with these thing before.

I think having some burden lifted from me allowed me to embrace more things. I'm glad. It's good to know that I'm not limited with just some things. It gives my INTP self more freedom and options for exploration.

Perks of being an INTx...

INTJ: Makes plans, even planning for the plans, for a particular activity.

Reality: Executes Murphy's Law on the time to carry out the activity. For two consecutive weekends.

INTP: Fine. Change of plans.

Because who would refuse a weekend in the City of Dreams and free dinner, all free?

Regret? Disappointment?

I am thinking which I actually feel at the moment.

It's been three sets of payments after a particular firm got one of their acts together, because they got fined. It's also been the third time the same particular firm missed to pay me on time. This got me thinking if it's an isolated case because the others already got paid. Oh yeah, besides the due payment the firm also failed to settle my other accounts albeit my number of attempts to reach out and remind them of these dues.

Don't ask me though for the specific number of times. I've lost count.

lotrscenery:
“ Grundarfjörður, Iceland
”Regret. I'm not really sure about this. I believe things happen for a reason. If you can't figure out what, make your own reason. I can't really say I regret partnering with this firm because I've learned a lot, though it's given I make out the most of the possible learning I could get out of something. I'm an INTP after all. Besides, I've also met nice people. Of course, we can't dismiss meeting not-so-nice people too. Yet I can't deny that somewhere at the back of my mind there's a thought of regret for saying yes to someone who brought me back to this firm.

Disappointment. For all these months spent stretching my patience, spending such time for perhaps in vain, putting myself up in a lot of... yeah, disappointment. There's been just a lot all these time especially after trying to reach out, hoping the firm would treat me humanely.

I am tired. I don't want to speak any more of disappointment, not even about regret.

Before finding out about my third consecutive late due payment, I told myself that I would settle what people owe me. It's like a seven-year-sabbath when you cancel debts. I intend to do that. I would free people from what they owe me before the end years. But, at the same time, I will lift all these debts to the LORD. I will let God do the judging.

"Vengeance is Mine," says the LORD. "I will repay."

In short, karma. That gives me peace.

Ambidexterity

They say logic and creativity are controlled by the left hemisphere and right hemisphere of the brain, respectively. Really?

A lot of people also believe that a person is either logical or creative depending on which hemisphere of his brain is dominant. I, however, believe that our brain's attributes are distributed throughout this mass inside our head. It just happens that some have developed one area more than the other. Perhaps it's by default that they're more inclined to one thing, depending on genetic and environmental factors, while others are challenged by their 'weaker hemisphere' that they've decided to keep its status quo.

Maybe I am wrong. Maybe my theory is only applicable to people with INTP as their MBTI type because these creatures are naturally curious. Or maybe I'm kind of an isolated case because I am an INTP (with very strong INTJ tendencies) and both parents are naturally left-handed. One of them has become right-handed though.

So how do I fare?

Using left hand:
- Eating (spoon on the left, fork on the right)
- Lifting objects
- Writing, but rarely or only when intentional. Penmanship is not as polished compared to those written by right hand.

I also tend to put my shoulder bag on my left shoulder.

Using right hand:
- Brushing teeth
- Writing
- Other tasks

Recently I realized how I prefer to use my left foot when playing Football. And it's better than my right foot!

I played in a booth where you have to kick the ball into the hole to get a prize. I managed to drill the ball on my last chance with my left foot.

In another occasion, there's a booth where you have to hit the ball twice. I've only hit it once. Again, only able to do so with my left foot.

Hello, Leo!

People say the left hemisphere of the brain is linear with the following attributes:

- English and Math and Physics where the three subjects in high school that I fared better than the rest of the subjects. My highest grade in a particular grading period was actually either in senior Math or Physics. 98.

- I speak three languages - Bisaya/Cebuano, English, Tagalog (Learned these in such order.) - and know a few Japanese and Spanish. I learned Japanese, mostly, by self-study and Spanish by... Well, I am a Filipino so that should be given. I'm currently learning Cyrillic.

- I am pragmatic. Whatever works best and the practical way. No fuss.

Meanwhile, the right hemisphere of the brain is described creative with the following attributes:

- I can draw and paint, if I focus and put effort to do so.

- iNtp/iNtj.

- The curious cat in me does things out of, of course, curiosity. If it seems fun and not fatal or won't cost me my license, sure.

- My emotions flow like a typical INTP and INTJ.

As an ambidextrous, it's like Jane Doe sensing Remi (instincts) coming into surface. Yeah, I just had to make that Blindspot reference.

Dinner with Friends at TOSH

September 23 was set to be a dinner date with my GC friends at The Old Spaghetti House (TOSH). The last time we had a meal was a lunch at Rack's. It was Sis Aya's birthday.

We decided to have dinner at TOSH because of it's September eat-all-you-can promo. Just P149 for pasta-all-you-can and additiona; P50 if you want unlimited pizza.

Unfortunately, not everyone was able to make it because of some circumstances.

The photo on the right was one of the only four pictures we were able to have. The others were just the same, all post dinner shots. My apologies for the blur though.. 😌 Monika has better shot but I couldn't post it here.

I supposed we were too hungry to bother taking photo of our food before or while eating. 😅 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍝🍝🍝🍝😍

When topics over dinner range from arts, engineering, psychology, psychiatry, physics and other applied science and math, extreme sports, medicine, crimes, health and fitness, what “tosh” means, work, people, travelling, life in general, senate hearing, a bit of ‘DC universe’ reference, and a lot more in no particular order… it means any of the following:
  • You have awesome friends who can talk about literally anything in the universe in 2 hours;
  • Or, there was an INTJ and an INTP while the others were cool enough to listen and not stop them; 😜
  • You haven’t seen each other for a while, like for almost 2 Olympics, or just a fortnight;
  • It was an eat-all-you-can meal and someone ate worth 3 or 4 meals in two rounds; 😮
  • All of the above.

I must say I’m blessed and grateful to meet and have such people in my life. ☺

Flooded

It's 7:39 AM when I started writing this blog entry. And my head is oozing with ideas. I'm actually flooded with it.

I got online after waking up and my mind has been thinking of this and that since. Perhaps it has something to do with my 12 hours of sleep.

Can't just stop thinking. It's not really a bad thing but my utmost concern is how to act on them. A lot of my thoughts, like any other, would be better if they are executed. No matter how imperfect. Two things though: 1, I don't know how to start; 2, a thought is easily overwhelmed by at least two others so I can't focus on the execution plan, not to mention the execution itself.

If I were a typical INTP, I would just think and think non-stop. But I also have INTJ tendencies so it's important for me to see things through, to see them become a reality, the concrete way.

Because of this dilemma, I just have to write. I have to let some thoughts out of my head so I end up writing but having already posted two blogs since I woke up is not enough. I could write about other things but I have to stop myself.

It feels terrible to be "locked" this way.

Back into Learning

As I'm reviewing my references, I of course have to deal with the courses I'm enrolled in. I believe I have at least three but I am prioritizing one course in particular given that I haven't been up to date.

Checking on the course, I realized that I'm already 3 weeks late. Good heavens. Although I've already watched a video, it's just one of those video clips for the orientation part alone. Just the orientation. I feel like I am into a little trouble.

I want to finish the course and really maximize everything it has to offer, but I wonder how to play my part. Thankfully, our mentor gave us the following tips.
  1. Follow the path.
  2. Visualize your knowledge.
  3. Learn spatially.
  4. Learn socially.
I particularly need to heed tip number one and I am so glad that our mentor encourages a little deviation. He's most likely aware that there are people who are naturally deviant. Hello, NTs. Nevertheless, he suggests that we don't deviate a lot adding that going back on track is very important. Gotta remember that.

Spatial learning is pretty interesting. I'm not sure if I've been consciously aware about and of trying it. For this course, I'll definitely try it. I believe it's going to be good for the brain. As for learning socially, well let's cross the bridge when we get there.

For the mean time, what's greatly bothering me is the revelation of how much time I'd have to spend for the course.

As an INTP, there's really no problem allotting time in learning. The problem is my time limitation. I have other things to do and I'm already 3 weeks late. Soon it'll be 4 weeks. How am I going to deal with that?

By the way, pardon the Blindspot .gifs used. Season 2 just premiered and I'm still not getting over it. It's too much to handle, the feels and thoughts and everything. I'm too carried away.

Wide Awake

I haven't slept yet since today's sunrise. Not really that I can't sleep or having those usual insomnia episodes. I'm simply having a hyperactive brain today. It's on non-stop thinking and musings that sleep suddenly became non-existent.

Well, I haven't really tried hitting the sack because I know I'll just go tossing and turning in my bed (cue: JLo's Waiting for Tonight). I tried to sleep while riding the UV Express from Makati to Antipolo but my obsessive brain just wouldn't stop thinking.

So what was I thinking? A lot.

If I would index the subject of my thoughts, each letter of the alphabet would have sub-topics and each sub-topic would lead to at least two options. I just learned to avoid going beyond three options because it would just go infinitely.

Basically, being an INTx explains everything. I can switch to -Perceiving and -Judging. C'est la vie. C'est moi.

The sun is about to set so I have to wrap my random research. That means from being INTP, I have to turn into INTJ now just so I'd feel less guilty. This reminds me that I have to exert more effort to highlight my strengths and work on my weaknesses.

But my brain... my thoughts... Gotta force myself into being INTJ.

INTJ vs. INTP

This is actually my reply to a post here:

I am basically an INTP with, based on some tests I took/re-took, 1-3% chances of being an INTJ. And I've realized that when I hit that 1-3%, I go all out in the sense that I get pretty anxious until things get done effectively. However, I've come to accept that I am an INTx, that I just shift from either of my 3-year old versions.

With regard to emotions, I remember an elder telling me that I give no reaction despite being scolded. As I recalled a particular moment when I got scolded, I remember thinking back then how to improve things that I just dismissed reacting for getting scolded. I was, as told by this elder, showed no reaction at all. Yes, I had no emotional reaction because my mind was busy trying to figure out how to fix or correct my mistake. For me it was far more important to avoid repetition of the same mistake than looking sorry. Besides, I didn't want to give this person the satisfaction of me being emotionally sorry though I felt bad that I didn't make the goal. But of course, other people would see that as arrogance. This elder thought I was being arrogant. But I wasn't.

Although I am seen as someone without emotions, which is very impossible, I feel strongly for some events and situations WHICH (emphasis intended) do not include me. The genocide in Sudan got me even years before. I felt terrible for those people who have become victims of the apartheid. In this year's Olympics, I am very happy for Simone Biles achieving feats unprecedented. When Judoka Yarden Gerbi won Israel's first Olympic medal since 2008, I was ecstatic. Of course, I was so and very, very happy when my own country Philippines wins its first Olympic medal in 20 years, courtesy of a female weight lifter.

However, when emotions are pretty exaggerated, I detach and could not appreciate. Such actually annoy me. I find them unnecessary unless they change things and events, for I see a lot of emotional people but are stuck in the status quo. What's the point of being so expressive when you're not changing things?

Sometimes though I go through something that technically speaking calls for a strong emotional reaction. I've found myself shedding tears without understanding why, like I tried to grasp what's going on and could "diagnose" but only if it's other people going through it. When I tried to put myself in the picture, I still go clueless albeit with my tears still flowing.

I can say I understand people's reactions, though I still question their motives for expressing such, but I can't picture myself giving the same. Of course, I experience anger which is actually the pretty dominant emotion I know. Like it's the only one I can understand with me in the picture. For who would not get angry with people oppressing helpless people, taking advantage of others?

When it comes to hygiene, I was not without care at least when it came to the basics. However, I didn't extend extra effort to be presentable. And yes, partly because of my 'rebellion' to society's particular "standards" or categorization, like you have to show up like this otherwise you'd be out-of-place. Back then, I was very much happy to be out of place. Although I still have no intention to be part of the crowd, technically I could not because I belong to the INTx group, I've come to appreciate what it's like to prepare ahead of time to dress up and put a little make-up, though I do so to hide the dark circles under my eyes and simply polish my look. I still prefer to keep everything au naturel.

There are INTP traits that used to apply to me but have now become very rare. There are also INTJ traits that do not fully apply, like being lost in "my own world" because I am still aware of everything around but I just don't respond to them even if people talk to me because most would ask questions I find stupid. At work, I often find myself being the only one responding to our supervisor's inquiry though I've been working on something, like everyone else.

I am aware that there are people who really get lost in their world, but I it actually makes me wonder why some people would not leave at least a window for their supervisor in case he raises a concern. For me, no one at work is in a position to 'shut' the world without at least informing a seatmate of such plan so no one would be expected to just easily interrupt. Unless of course you're the boss, you don't need to adjust that way.

MBTI: INTP and INTJ

So me being INTP did some research about the Myer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), though mostly about INTP and INTJ. Of course. I'm an INTP with 1-3% chances of going INTJ. And when I do, I go full blast.

I also tried to look into the comparison between the four categories. Is that what it's called? E vs I, Se vs Ni, Fe vs Ti, P vs J.

Besides the review of traits, I was trying to profile someone and I've come to believe that this person is an ISFP. Perhaps even an ESFP.

Well, just saying.

Outdone.

Somebody outdid me.

I've been planning on something but I never thought my plans would be carried out by someone else first. I wasn't really surprised, for I saw the signs. I knew those signs. But I kind of dismissed them and 'focused' on the person's character. It's like I've profiled this person based on history and just put the current signs aside.

As mentioned, I wasn't surprised but it didn't come without an impact. Right now I am trying to figure out how to deal with this. For an INTP with INTJ tendencies, I lack the necessary faculty required to better deal with what's going on. Safe to say, I'm confused and sort of left out.

Despite lacking fully developed emotional faculties, at least when I'm involved in the situation, this thing is bothering me. I just can't stop thinking about it, more of because I want to figure out what I really feel and of course, why.

Someone gave me an advice before which would be really helpful at the moment. It was said to me twice, as far as I remember. I was told before, "Don't worry too much about it." That advice sticks to me because I am melancholic and have a Type A personality.

By the way, this person who outdid me did not tell me of the plan. I figured it out. I tend to have ways of figuring and/or finding out things even without being informed. Someone later confirmed it though, but I was actually the one who reiterated it. Sort of. So it sounded or appeared like I knew it long before. But truth is, I've thought of it. That things will come to this eventually.

I tried to look for something, anything. I got nothing but that which appeared general and vague. But I think it'd be nice if that which appeared general and vague was actually meant for me. I'd take it. But I wouldn't really know.

Perhaps.

Recurring Thoughts

Someone has quite become a recurring thought for me yesterday. Looking back, my "mood" toward this person has loosen up but my intuition tells me to stick to my guns. For this thought (see photo) has been an equally recurring thought.

So what to do now? I've come to conclude that I'm choosing to forgive this person, but I am not trusting this person anymore. Perhaps never again. Oh, it's like what I said in my Intuition blog entry. But who knows? Perhaps time will change things. Perhaps God will. Perhaps there's really no need to trust again.

INTP pt. 2

And this is is the second part of my previous post here.

INTP at Work

At work, the INTP is motivated to solve complex problems in an original, innovative way. Architects want to analyze systems and ideas thoroughly to create deep understanding, and enjoy designing creative solutions to highly abstract problems.

INTPs rarely have much interest in organizational traditions, preferring to forge their own path to innovation. They hate being limited by bureaucracy and rules, and are often more in tune with the theoretical soundness of their ideas than they are with the practical applications. They typically prefer to focus on creating the idea, and to leave the tedious details of implementation to someone else.

I have to admit that this autonomy and defiance to tradition can be, and usually is, quite offensive to a company. I guess the key would be to follow the "standard" first though not necessarily down to every dot. From there, innovation can start in small steps.

INTPs work best independently or with a small team of colleagues that they perceive as smart, competent, and logical. They quickly tire of colleagues who are aggressive or overbearing, and can be dismissive of people who aren't as clever as themselves.

This usually gets me into trouble. Sorry, it's the brain make-up. Working on it. I mean I am working on dealing with people.

An ideal organization for an INTP is flexible and non-traditional, and values ingenuity over conformity. An ideal job for an INTP allows them to address complex theoretical or technical problems with creative, novel solutions.

Top Careers for the INTP

INTPs are first and foremost thinkers, and this quality can be seen in their choice of careers. Although INTPs can be found in a wide variety of fields, a happy and satisfied INTP is invariably found in a career that allows them to use their intellect, analyze concepts, and think deeply.

INTPs have an innovative nature and are often drawn to cutting-edge fields such as technology, engineering, and the sciences. Although INTPs overall are a rare breed, visit an area like California's Silicon Valley or a tech company like Google or Apple and you'll find that nearly every other person seems to be an INTP. This type naturally thrives in the challenging, unpredictable world of tech.

Many INTPs are creative and seek an artistic bent to their career. INTPs are particularly drawn to artistic fields with a touch of science or technology, for instance architecture or graphic design.

No wonder the 12-year old me was making/drafting as if an architect. But I wonder I didn't pursue it. Perhaps I can blame then still journalist Loren Legarda.

Although INTPs typically prefer careers that have them working with ideas more than people, a contingent of INTPs consider human problems the ultimate frontier of intellectual inquiry. Thus, you find some INTPs in careers that allow them to study the human experience, including psychology and other social sciences.

Top careers for the INTP include:

ADL reconsidered

This post from Egypt Independent got me reckoning, yet again: Max amount of time you can sit before harming your heart: study

According to the article, "Although the number may sound high, the team believe it is probably easily achieved by most people. Office workers, for example, may sit down at work for seven to eight hours a day, sitting down for an hour at lunch, and then are very possibly sitting down again while commuting to and from work. And when many people arrive home they then sit again, to eat dinner or partake in activities such as browsing the internet or watching TV.

The team also found that those in the highest sedentary time category of 12.5 hours on average a day were 14 percent more likely to experience heart problems than those who sat for just 2.5 hours on average each day."

As an INTP/INTJ, I could go hours past my regular shift. I just did such recently, even going 16 hours straight in the office.

Despite having such personality, being a Type-A choleric-melancholic, I've gone to learn that I should think of my health too especially in the long run. And I must admit having discomforts that could be quite alarming if these become frequent.

I can't keep going and going so I've learned to force myself take a break every now and then. Yet this article I've just read is sort of a wake up call. Daily tolls bring harm to my body especially that I'm not getting any younger.

So what to do now? Patience. Things will be sorted out soon, having this and that placed here and there. Time management is too a key. Perhaps, I should really pursue my plans to visit some places in CALABARZON albeit shortly.

Note to self: Go back to Tagaytay ASAP.
