Keen Dream

I had a dream this morning, when I went back to sleep, about something I could only describe as something as fugitive-like. Reminds me of Elizabeth Keen.

In my dream, I was supposed to be chasing something or someone but I later suspected to have become a target. I think there was also someone I was "competing" with who was like... I could only describe him as someone like Loki. That's what I seemed to be thinking in my dream.

Then there's someone in my dream that I could really describe as a dream guy. He looked like Ben Affleck (uhm, excuse my hair please) but he seemed to be acting and treated like someone I knew before. This someone I 'knew' was a colleague for a couple of months. And he reminded me of Tom Keen. He did something for me that Tom did for Liz. Ugh, my heart! I miss that couple. I miss The Blacklist.

Btw, this guy was invited to Boracay. Why? Anyway, he positioned his left hand in a way that was free to move. He was holding something but later stopped because of wariness. I think he said something like, "Baka malagot pa ako" or "Baka lumaki kamay ko." Weird huh? Well, obviously the guy only looked like Ben Affleck because Ben doesn't speak Tagalog. And this guy spoke the way my colleague would.

There was a "Lost in Translation" scene minus the parting of ways. It was more like an attempt to hide among the crowd. The dream ended that way but left me with a warm feeling when I woke up. I was also confused but one thing or two was made clear to me. I welcome the Tom-like treatment. For another, I am also at risk of allowing something. I learned the latter just earlier when I was already in the office.

Change of heart and mind

As soon as I found out that Ben Affleck was taking over the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, I knew I'd have to set a date with him before my date with Steve. Technically, it could only go with that sequence. 

Unfortunately, the date has been pushed and pushed until last night. I was even having second thoughts as I was suffering from tension headache, for hours already, which was close to evolving into migraine. So yeah, I went to the movie house with a very sensitive head. I couldn't just move my head, definitely not abruptly. But I thought I might not have another chance except for next Saturday so I decided to bear with the headache. So I headed to the movie house to watch the film at 9PM.

My primary reason for watching the film was the 3 B's: Batman. Bruce Wayne. Ben Affleck. In no particular order. However, I had a change of heart toward Clark Kent (Cavill). Superman, uhmm... Well, it's more on my view toward Clark. As for Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), man she ushered in a paradigm shift. I love how she sees women. I love how she sees Wonder Woman and how she portrayed this iconic figure.

I'm glad I decided to watch Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice at Robinsons Place Antipolo. First, the tix was cheap, just P200.00 yet a worthwhile experience. It also reminded me of my first encounter with Henry Cavill. It gave me a sense of nostalgia and comfort.

I thought that a date with Bruce would at least serve as a diversion. And it sure did. 

I was pretty engrossed with the film, especially since Wonder Woman disembarked from her flight to you know, help the boys. When she came to the scene in her warrior outfit, I suddenly realized that the real heroes, whether with super power or not, are women. Think Martha. Think Diana.

Argo (2012)

I've always wanted to watch Argo but I haven't done so until last week. I do like history yet I only had one reason for watching this film. Two words. Ben Affleck. 'Nuff said.

When I watched this film, I was also reading Joel C. Rosenberg's Inside the Revolution. I actually haven't finished it yet. The first chapters included the events and people responsible for the Iranian Revolution. It's interesting. Oh well, back to Argo. It's more interesting that Mendez (Affleck) came up with the idea of using a fake film to pull out slash rescue 6 diplomats out of the heart of Tehran, then the breeding capital for extremism in Iran. More impressive was the help of Canada, surpassing the diplomats' own government. Canadian Caper. #NeverForget

Looking back, I think the film didn't fully capture the intensity of the revolution. But then, he could? And how could the West truly do so? I think it was only quite easy for me to appreciate it because I had a little background.
